The movie is based on the fantastic book with the same name by Kajsa Ingemarsson. This is a true feelgood movie about love, food and life.

It was actually my first time in this area, but not the last one. I already look forward to my next visit. I stayed in San Remo on the Italian Riviera and made small trips around the area. Since it is close to France it is very easy to reach Monaco, Nice and Cannes.

The area has good weather all year around and never really becomes cold thanks to the location. Therefor this is also called “The Flower Riviera” due to the mild climate all year around flowers, olives and pesto is some of the local specialities here.

Inspiration is all over, no need to search. You find beautiful dramatic views, amazing Villas, Botanical elements, food, wine, beach, mountains… it has a great variation.

Here I share with you some of the lovely places and inspirations from the trip.

Since we stayed in San Remo on the italian side close to the French border and close to Monaco we made small trips around the ares. One of the great things with the coast is also that the old railway on the coastline got closed and moved more into the land so the old railway has been reworked and are now a bike/promenade road where you can rent a bike and hide away with a picknick. Lovely idea.

Lolli Palace Hotel San Remo Italy

First night we stayed at this Vintage Dolce Vita Hotel Lolli Palace. Both Elisabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren was here in the golden years. It has the old Riviera feel in the entire hotel and Lolli Palace Hotel is a true Vintage pearl.

The italian breakfast was made on the delicious San Romolo Pasticceria in San Remo where they have the greatest hot chocolate with chili taste and brioches. Need a visit for sure!

In end of january each year San Remo has the beautiful Flower Festival of San Remo where they make amazing floral decorations to celebrate the Flowers of the area.

Bordighera Beach

Long walks on the beach is a must. It was pretty windy this day, but warm with a beautiful stormy and dramatic sea.

We went several times to eat classic italian regional dinners at Nando´s Pizzeria and Restaurant.

We went to the Kingdom of Seborga. This place located in the mountains north of Imperia is very old and it says it is older than Italy itself, dated year 954 by Guido, Count of Ventimiglia, made it to the Benedictine monks of the Monastery of Lerins (France). It is a medieval presentation with great murals and crafted details in every corner.

The Capital of Perfume – Grasse, France

Since I am a great fan of handmade and exclusive perfumes we just had to go to Grasse , located north of Cannes. This is the Capital of Perfume. They have crafted perfumes for many years and due to their amazing location and good climate they grow flowers, plants and erbs for their perfumes just on the hills around the city located on a mountain.

We went to Perfumiere Molinard, that has made perfumes since 1849. They had a fantastic guided tour in the factory to follow the process and to know better the profession and the crafting behind. The guide told that today it excists 1000 perfumieres that is educated and diplomated in the world. They have all a chimic background and to become a senior perfumiere you need to have created 1000 perfumes that has reached the marked. Very interesting.

I hope one day I will present for you all a lovely Lobra perfume, crafted in Grasse. Will keep you posted on that one..

Monaco – Monte Carlo

Of course we had to visit Monaco and Monte Carlo. Such an amazing place.

Oceanographic Museum Monaco

The Oceanographic Museum on the hills of Monaco close to the Royal Palace was such an amazing place. It had a great acquarium on the bottom floor, the middle floors where old oceanographic pieces in exposure and the Rooftop with breathtaking view all over the coastline was amazing. The building was constructed on the cliff just by the sea.

Dolceaqua Church with amazing colors

Dolceaqua also needed a visit. It is such a magical place. You feel like entering a movie, like Lord of the Rings of such. It has a town constuction like nowhere else. Built in layers on top of eachother. Even of it is sunshine outside it is dark and mysterious inside the little old medieval town of Dolceaqua. The town was build 1177 and has a Castle on top of the town that is built on a height. This was a place where artist Monet often went to get inspiration.

During Stockholm Fashion Week 13 aug the founder of Lobra – Louise Bramstedt got assigned the new talents award by The Swedish Fashion Council.

The Jury Motivation: The price ”Rookies of the year 2012” is
assigned to a fearless ray of sunshine whose experience of
the world is translated into stylish products with an
exclusive touch. The jury welcomes more ”party” into
swedish fashion and with this designers festive ”splash of
colour” products our prayers has been heard. We are
convinced that she will take the lead when the swedish
fashion wonder is followed by this new shoe and
accessorie wonder. Rookies of the year 2012 is Louise
Bramstedt, Lobra.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank family and friends that means alot to me that has supported me on this journey in rain or shine. Also my fantastic collaborators in Italy that knows how to make magical craftsmenship with alot of passion and love into each stitch and making. Finally I would like to thank the people connected to the Swedish Fashion Council and Rookies that believed so strongly in Lobra and also alot of love to the bloggers, press and others that shows their support. Franca Sozzani, the editor of Vogue Italia , for whom Piaggi penned a column entitled ‘D.P. Doppie Pagine di Anna Piaggi’ paid tribute to Piaggi on Twitter writing: “23 years working together, milions of D.P. done together. Will remember you for ever Anna”.

Burlesque performer Dita Von Teese also took to the social media site to express her words on the style guru: “So sad to hear that Anna Piaggi, one of my last icons of beauty & fashion has passed. She was the height of glamorous eccentricity.”

To me it was always a magical moment when passing her by on the streets of Milan when I lived there. She is a true icon and a piece of art. She carried her style so gracefully and all I have to say is Style has no age. Long live Anna D.P Piaggi!!
